Our Shade Ready Socket in black is the ideal solution for adding shades to your light fixture designs. Featured on our Standard cord sets, this simple socket includes threading and a shade ring to help affix a lampshade or cage directly to your fixture to diffuse light or add decorative flair.
When selecting a shade to go with your fixture, be sure to consider the diameter of the socket, as well as the shade style. This socket is designed to pair with Euro shade fitters. All Color Cord Company shades are compatible with the socket, but bear this in mind when pairing with a vintage or outside shade brands as there are many sizes and styles of shades available.
These sockets are self-locking! Do not assemble the sockets with the terminal inside before it is wired. The terminal will lock the socket permanently.
As with all of our sockets, if you plan using this socket with our DIY light cord, we recommend using a cord grip/strain relief for a secure attachment, which is sold separately.
Please do not exceed more than a 5lb pull weight on this socket.
